The 2016 Nissan GT-R has been given a boost in power for the new model year, and even though power has gone up, the sticker price remains unchanged at $103,365 for the base model, including destination. Also new for this year is the 45th Anniversary Edition, which celebrates Godzilla’s storied history with a paint job that glitters in gold.

Starting at $103,365, the GT-R Premium now boasts 550 hp by way of the same 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine that made 545 hp in the 2015 model. New 20-spoke wheels replace the old 10-spoke ones on the Premium model. The only change to the GT-R Black Edition for 2016 is the boost in power. That car, which costs almost $10,000 more than the Premium model at $113,105, spices things up with black aluminum Rays wheels, red and black interior, Recaro seats, and a carbon fiber rear spoiler. For even greater performance, there’s the Nissan GT-R Nismo, which squeezes out 600 hp and 481 lb-ft from the same 3.8-liter V-6. For $151,585, the GT-R Nismo also boasts a specially tuned suspension system, enhanced aerodynamics, an Alcantara-appointed cabin, and a unique exterior appearance. The Nismo is only available in four exterior paint colors, including Solid Red, Jet Black, Super Silver, and Pearl White.

While the Nismo’s paint colors are unique, none are quite as special as the 45th Anniversary Edition’s Silica Brass paint color. Nissan says the gold color commemorates the GT-R’s long heritage of world-class performance, as the iconic 2001 R34 Skyline GT-R sported the very same paint color. The gold hue goes along with the special gold-tone VIN plate located inside the engine compartment and a special plaque on the center console. Based on the GT-R Premium, the 45th Anniversary Edition doesn’t boast any changes under the hood, and Nissan says fewer than 30 examples will be slated for the U.S. Pricing hasn’t been revealed for the 45th Anniversary Edition, though we can bet it will be a considerable hike over your average GT-R.

All GT-Rs come equipped with all-wheel drive, a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, 11-speaker Bose sound system, and rearview camera. A Bose Active Noise Cancellation system is also standard on all models except the GT-R Nismo.

The 2016 Nissan GT-R can already be found in dealerships across the country.
