2017 Honda Odyssey REVIEW logo 6/12/2017

Con: Redesigned versions of this popular minivan often command higher transaction prices.

What’s New: The Honda Odyssey is being redesigned for the 2017 model year.

Pro: Should continue to deliver excellent ride and handling characteristics for a minivan; Honda often introduces unique new features with each redesign of the Odyssey; will likely offer improved fuel economy without sacrificing size.

Edmunds Say: The ever-popular Honda Odyssey minivan is slated for a redesign this year. Expect it to be evolutionary in terms of styling, while the rest of this family vehicle will likely push the envelope when it comes to interior features and active safety.

Introduction: Last updated for the 2014 model year, the upcoming 2017 Honda Odyssey is gearing up for another round of significant upgrades. Judging by the amount of camouflage on the prototypes we spotted recently, the redesigned Odyssey minivan will have an all-new look when it appears later this year.

Although we can't see much under all those covers, the Odyssey will likely feature the same 3.5-liter V6 found in the latest Pilot SUV. With 280 horsepower and an available nine-speed automatic transmission, it should offer improved performance and better overall fuel economy.

Like all Odysseys before it, this new van will have a long list of handy features designed to make it the perfect family hauler. The last time Honda updated the Odyssey, it introduced the first-ever built-in vacuum. We don't know yet what's in store for this new redesign, but check back here in a few months for new information.
