2018 Jeep Renegade

Vehicle Summary

The Renegade is the smallest and least expensive model in Jeep's expansive SUV lineup, slotting below the Patriot, Compass, Wrangler, Cherokee, and Grand Cherokee. The Renegade shares the same platform as the Fiat 500X and is one of the most affordable SUVs on the market. The Renegade is one of the few compact crossovers that offers a manual transmission with all-wheel drive.

The 2018 Jeep Renegade (originally launched for the 2015 model year) will likely carry over the same powertrains: a 180-hp 2.4-liter I-4 mated to a nine-speed automatic, or a 160-hp 1.4-liter turbo-four mated to a six-speed manual. We'll update this space as soon as official info is available. Renegades route power to the front wheels or to an available all-wheel-drive system. The Trailhawk model with Jeep Active Drive Low, a 20:1 crawl ratio and Rock mode will likely return, and it's possible Jeep might freshen the Renegade lineup with new features, colors, and maybe a new special-edition model for 2018. Don't be surprised to see the base Sport trim and highly capable Trailhawk model return for 2018. The Renegade will be a good fit for those who want more comfort and practicality than you get from a Wrangler and more style and flair than the outdated, last-generation Compass model that might still be on dealer lots.

Cool Fact

The Renegade is designed in the U.S. but is built alongside the Fiat 500X in Italy.
