Vehicle Summary

Perhaps the most well-known hybrid vehicle worldwide, the Toyota Prius was one of the first mass-produced hybrids that's now in its fourth generation. Featuring a polarizing exterior and an updated hybrid powertrain that now has lithium-ion batteries on most trims, the Toyota Prius remains one of the most fuel efficient vehicles available. A plug-in variant called the Prius Prime was added for the 2017 model year and it can travel up to 25 miles in EV mode.

Redesigned for the 2016 model year, the Prius might not receive a refresh until the 2019 model year -- we'll update this space on the 2018 Prius as soon as we have official info. The Prius was the first vehicle to move to the new TNGA platform that will underpin the majority of Toyota vehicles. The car debuted with LED headlights and, for 2017, added Toyota Safety Sense-P as standard.
