Spy photographers caught the Porsche Boxster out for a joyride, and it appears as though the sports car already went back for some nips and tucks. With barely any camouflage to hide the minor changes to its face, the Boxster shows off a slightly revised front end.

Like the refreshed 911s we've spied, this Boxster prototype sports a revised front bumper that comes complete with new LED daytime running lights. The camo on the headlights also suggests that the lamp design may have changed. Although it's clear the Boxster only got some minor work done to its face, it's possible it got some major work done underneath the hood. The Boxster and Cayman are expected to get turbocharged four-cylinder engines in their next generation, but this facelift could mean there's a possibility we'll see it sooner than originally planned.

We've heard the new engines will be available in three displacements, including 1.6-liter, 2.0-liter, and 2.5-liter variants. Horsepower reportedly ranges from 210 hp for the 1.6-liter to 360 hp with the 2.5-litermill. Though recent reports hint that the Porsche flat-four is a go, we've also heard the horizontally opposed layout may have been axed in favor of a more conventional inline-four like the 2.0-liter turbo unit in the new Macan. We won't know exactly what type of four-banger the next Boxster will pack until closer to its debut, but until then enjoy these shots of the subtly refreshed model.
