This Friday, the Barrett-Jackson auction house will auction off the first production model of the all-new 2016 Cadillac CT6 during the 13th Annual Palm Beach Auction in Palm Beach, Fla. All proceeds from the CT6 will support the Karmanos' Intensive Care Unit to develop a 24-hour Acute Care Clinic to support the specialized care for Karmanos patients.

General Motors has a long-standing tradition of auctioning off the first production models of its various cars to support different charities, including the first 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28.

This will not be the first donation that GM has made to the Karmanos Institute, either. Earlier this year, the GM Foundation donated $500,000 to cancer research, and due to donations over the years, the Karmanos Cancer Institute even named a laboratory floor in honor of the GM Foundation.

"We are extremely grateful for our long-standing partnership with GM and the GM Foundation whose philanthropic contributions continue to support our mission to do all we can to end cancer," said Gerold Belper, M.D., Ph.D., president and CEO for Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, in a release.

The lucky winner of the all-new 2016 Cadillac CT6 will get a letter of authenticity, choice of color, and a personal delivery made by Ed Welburn, vice president of Global Design, at the GM Design studio.
