Two notable Corvette tuners have just released power upgrades for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 that take power north of the 700-hp mark. Callaway Cars Inc. and Lingenfelter Performance Engineering each take a different route to boost the new supercharged Z06’s peak numbers.

Callaway Cars Inc.: 757 hp and 777 lb-ft

Like the kit for the base Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, Callaway’s upgrade kit for the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 includes a larger supercharger. Callaway replaces the stock 1,740-cc TVS supercharger with a 32-percent larger 2,300-cc TVS supercharger. Supporting hardware includes Callaway’s triple-element intercooler for cooler intake temps. Additionally, the supercharger housing protrudes through the hood and adds convective cooling via the ambient airflow. The kit also includes a redesigned intake manifold for better cooling and increased airflow. A 10-rib drive pulley system is said to prevent belt-slippage. Callaway says the upgrade is good for 757 hp and 777 lb-ft of torque.

The kit is covered by Callaway’s 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. Callaway cars can be serviced by any GM dealer in the U.S.

Optional Callaway pieces include a short-throw shifter, Sport Exhaust with Double-D Tips, embroidered car cover, and National Corvette Museum Delivery. Additionally, the basic warranty can be upgraded to a 5-year/60,000-mile Powertrain Service Contract. The Callaway Corvette Z06 Package is priced at $16,995.

Lingenfelter Performance Engineering: 720 hp and 730 lb-ft

Where the Callaway kit includes a new supercharger and intercooler system, the Lingenfelter upgrade adds new parts to the existing system. The kit includes a Lingenfelter LT1/LT4 dry sump damper, 9.2-inch supercharger drive pulley, new supercharger drive belt, and 100-mm idler pulley kit. Those bits are good for a 15-percent overdrive of the stock supercharger. Other performance-enhancing bits include a high-flow air filter, 170-degree thermostat, GM crankshaft bolt, and a handheld programmer with a Lingenfelter tune.

Cosmetic bits include chrome Lingenfelter fender badges, interior badge, and personalized stainless engine badge. Priced at $3,995, the kit comes with a 12-month/12,000-mile warranty on the components. All told, the Lingenfelter kit increases the 6.2-liter LT4 V-8 engine’s power from 650 hp and 650 lb-ft to 720 hp and 730 lb-ft.

If you had a Z06 and wanted 700-plus hp, which kit would you choose?
