Shanghai GM is showing off the China-only Buick Envision midsize crossover once again, revealing certain details about it that we didn't know before such as its Chinese name and certain other technical details. We also get a better look at it with the first official photo.

Named "Ang Ke Wei," the luxury crossover maintains the same "dynamic and assertive" styling as the concept that was unveiled at the 2011 Shanghai auto show. The familiar Buick design language carries over to the Envision with the brand's signature waterfall front grille, winged xenon headlights, and boomerang-shaped LED daytime running lights. The Envision also boasts 19-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and a roof rack. Measuring 184 inches long, 72 inches wide, and 67 inches tall, the Envision slots in between the subcompact Encore and full-size Enclave crossovers. Buick also says the Envision has a spacious cabin, thanks to its 108-inch wheelbase. Buick Envision Concept Front Three Quarter© Provided by MotorTrend Buick Envision Concept Front Three Quarter

As for what's underneath the hood, the automaker has revealed the Envision will be motivated by a 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 that makes 256 hp and 260 lb-ft of torque matched to a new-generation six-speed automatic. The company's new all-wheel drive system will also be available, while a fuel-saving stop-start feature will come standard. No other engine choices were revealed, but there's a chance it could also be offered as a plug-in hybrid later on down the line, since the Envision concept was originally shown as a plug-in.

It's still unclear if this luxury CUV is coming to the States, but it seems unlikely since GM has said the Envision is the product of “global design with local aesthetics for the Chinese market.” Even still, spy photographers have spied a prototype about the size of the Envision out for testing, though Buick reps have remained tight-lipped, saying they "have not made any announcements for the U.S." yet.
