It wasn't that long ago that Alfa Romeo finally returned to the United States after an extended absence. The Alfa Romeo 4C hit showroom floors this year and we might see another Alfa model very soon. On Fiat Chrysler’s official blog, the automaker hinted that we can expect our “next Alfa fix at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.”

We learned from Fiat Chrysler’s five-year plan that Alfa Romeo would bring eight new models to market by 2018, and during this year's Los Angeles Auto Show , we found out that we can expect news on the latest debut next month in Detroit. This latest tease from FCA US suggests we might get more than just a bit of news in the Motor City. If a new model does come to Detroit, it could be a production version of the Alfa Romeo 4C Spider concept unveiled this year in Geneva . Then again, maybe it’s something else completely.

Sports cars aren't the only thing that Alfa will be bringing to the ‘States. According to Alfa President and CEO Harald Wester, sedans and SUVs will play a large part in the automaker's future lineup. However, Alfa Romeo has a lot of brand-building to do between now and then, especially if it wants to be known as a premium brand. And regardless of what this new model may be, a 4C drop-top or something completely new, we're looking forward to what's to come.
