The fifth-generation 2015 Morgan Aero 8 roadster was revealed at the 2015 Geneva auto show. More than 1250 Aero platform cars have been sold since the first-generation model arrived in 2000, according to the niche automaker. The return of the open-top two-seater also signifies the end of production for the current Aero SuperSports and Aero Coupe models.

For the latest version, the 2015 Morgan Aero 8 gets revised styling and chassis as well as a bolt-on hardtop that transforms the open-top roadster into a coupe. A modern interpretation of classic Morgan roadsters, the Aero 8 features a long hood and low cabin and a rear end inspired by the deck of a boat. The reverse-hinged trunk lid hides the new double-lined mohair soft-top and a luggage compartment.

Interior features include a revised dashboard, real wood trim, textured box-woven carpet, and fine leather. A new air conditioning system is said to increase the 2015 Morgan Aero 8 roadster’s global appeal. The latest model is also said to have the longest options list of any Morgan vehicle to date. Among those options are available touchscreen infotainment systems, low-slung carbon fiber seats, and bespoke detailing packs.

A revised front end, redesigned suspension with anti-roll bars, and an improved torsional stiffness in the aluminum chassis enhance driving dynamics. Power comes from a BMW-sourced 367-hp 4.8-liter V-8 mated to a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The rear end features a new BMW limited-slip differential. Other features include ABS with electronic brake force distribution, power steering, cruise control, and airbags.

Morgan says the 2015 Aero 8 is the most refined and technologically advanced model to come from the family-owned automaker. Production of the 2015 Morgan Aero 8 begins the fourth-quarter of this year, while the Aero SuperSports and Aero Coupe end production in April. As always, the Aero 8 will be built in limited production numbers to each customer’s specifications making each model a one-of-a-kind.
