Volkswagen has released two teaser sketches of a new concept it's bringing to the Geneva motor show next week. The sketches show a four-door sedan with a coupe-like roofline, likely previewing the next-gen CC.

The current CC has been around since 2008 and last received a refresh in 2011. This concept, with its raked roofline and squished Euro Passat front end, gives us a good idea of what we can expect of the next-gen car. The European Passat was revealed last year at the Paris motor show, debuting on VW's modular MQB platform. The next CC will likely share that platform and gain many of the Euro Passat's drivetrain options, which include a plug-in hybrid and a new twin-turbo 2.0-liter diesel I-4 making 236 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque.

The front end gets a long hood and the familiar horizontal-slat grille that blends into the headlights, which are narrow and slanted. The roofline appears to slope into the rear deck at a more dramatic angle than the current CC, possibly indicating the next model could get a hatch like the Audi A7. The concept rides on large alloy wheels, which fill up the wheel wells nicely.

We'll know more about Volkswagen's Show Car concept when it debuts next week in Geneva.
