General Motors has trademarked three new vehicle names including Buick Avenir – the flagship concept car shown at the 2015 Detroit auto show in January. The automaker also trademarked Regal Sport Touring and LaCrosse Sport Touring, GM Inside News reports.

Trademarking the Buick Avenir name suggests the automaker is considering putting the concept into production. While specific details about the concept are still unknown, the automaker said it would be powered by a V-6 engine with start-stop and cylinder-deactivation technologies. A nine-speed automatic sends power to all four wheels. It would also have a driver selectable suspension.

Other styling details include a bold waterfall front grille with horizontal bar, curvy bodywork with prominent rear quarter-panel “hips” and a pointed rear end reminiscent of the Buick Riviera. The concept rode on 21-inch alloy wheels. Like most concept cars, the styling could be toned down for production.

The Regal Sport Touring and LaCrosse Sport Touring names are more of a mystery. On the Buick Regal, the Sport Touring model could slot between the base model and the sporty GS trim, while on the Buick LaCrosse, the Sport Touring model could slot at the top of the range. Another possibility is that Sport Touring name could refer to a new wagon bodystyle like the Opel Insignia Sports Tourer. While the idea of a Buick Regal Sport Touring wagon isn’t too far-fetched, a Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring wagon is less likely.
