Nearly a year ago we got our first taste of the new 2015 Ford Mustang when it made its official debut. Now, the tuner versions are beginning to surface with a Roush upgrade kit and an upcoming Saleen model recently detailed,. Hennessey Performance is about to join the fray, offering an upgrade package on the 2015 Ford Mustang GT 5.0-liter V-8. However, only 500 units will be built for the 2015 model year.

As it sits, the newest generation of the iconic pony car features powerful engines and design elements from past models to create a Mustang for the modern era. Hennessey's upgrade pack builds on these strengths, thanks to a host of engine upgrades to boost the performance, as well as exterior elements to improve aerodynamics. With the upgrade kit, the 2015 Mustang HPE700 pumps out 717 horsepower and 632 lb.-ft. of torque, giving it a Hennessey-estimated 0-60 mph time of just 3.6 seconds. The HPE700 is said to complete the quarter-mile in 11.2 seconds at 131 mph.

The kit itself includes a Roots-style supercharger system, throttle body upgrade, stainless steel exhaust system, and fuel injector and pump upgrades. The kit also includes professional installation, Dyno tuning, and road testing. Helping to identify the car as more than just a standard Mustang are, Hennessey, HPE700, and Supercharged exterior badges, along with serial-numbered dash and engine plaques. Other added features include CarbonAero carbon fiber bodywork, side sills, a rear diffuser, front splitter, and rear lip spoiler. Throw Michelin Pilot Super Sport 2 tires on the Hennessey H10 Lightweight 20-inch wheels and you have the complete Hennessey Performance 2015 Mustang.

While not everyone is a fan of the new design, Hennessey has tasked itself with improving upon the design, making it more aggressive in appearance and perhaps more along the lines of what enthusiasts were hoping for from the factory.
