While the new third-generation 2016 Honda Pilot was the star of the Japanese automaker's 2015 Chicago auto show stand, that didn't stop the company from showing a teaser sketch of its redesigned pickup. This is the second teaser the automaker has shown of the second-generation Honda Ridgeline pickup.
Where the first teaser sketch was simply an outline of the upcoming Ridgeline pickup's side profile, the new sketch shows the pickup from the rear three-quarter angle. The more detailed sketch reveals a more aggressive design than the first-generation Ridgeline. While both teaser sketches suggest the new Ridgeline will adopt a more traditional profile with a defined cab and bed, a prototype for the new pickup appeared to have the same sloping rear cab area as the original pickup. Though, the automaker may have used camouflage to disguise the prototype 's silhouette.
Few details are known about the second coming of the Honda Ridgeline, but the new model could benefit from the automaker's new Earth Dreams technologies. We expect the new Ridgeline to feature the same 3.5-liter V-6 and six- and nine-speed automatic transmissions as the recently revealed 2016 Honda Pilot.
