As part of the 2015 Hot Rod Power Tour, a multi-car burnout was organized at Memphis International Raceway. More than 110 cars lined the dragstrip and return road for the event, which may have set the world record for the world’s largest burnout.

The multi-car burnout didn’t go off without a hitch, however, with some participants having early starts and some cars breaking their limited-slip differentials turning them into one-tire-fryers. The Hot Rod crew gave Jarred Hitt their unofficial vote for best burnout in his 1989 Dodge Diplomat. Hitt didn’t stop until he got a flat tire.

It will be a few days until the attempt can be verified by Guinness World Records. The current world record for the world’s largest burnout is held by the Australians, which was set at the Summernats 28 annual car festival in Canberra, Australia on January 1, where 103 cars participated. The previous record, set at the Summernats in 2013, featured 68 cars.
