Infiniti Q30 Hatch Shows its Interior Ahead of Frankfurt

Infiniti continues its tease of the production Q30 hatchback by giving us our first glimpse at the car's interior. The compact Infiniti model will debut at the Frankfurt motor show on September 15, but we already have a good idea what to expect.

Research

The images show the view of the interior from the driver's seat -- in both left- and right-hand drive configurations. We can see a lot of leather along with a good amount of contrast stitching. The layout is similar to what we saw in the concept, though toned down significantly as you might expect. Wood and metallic trim accent the cabin, giving it an upscale, modern feel. Infiniti says it also used suede-like Dinamica material from Italy for the headliner and pillars. MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image

Last time, Infiniti gave us another look at the Q30's exterior design, which also didn't stray far from the concept. We know the Q30 will ride on a platform shared with the Mercedes-Benz GLA and CLA, and is likely to be powered by a Mercedes-sourced turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4. Both front- and all-wheel drive are expected to be available when the car arrives in the U.S. early 2016. The Q30, Infiniti's first global compact and first-ever hatchback, will begin production at Nissan's plant in Sunderland, U.K., this year.
