Jaguar F-Pace Crossover's Interior Bits Spied in New Photos

A Jaguar F-Pace prototype was spotted parked in between a Range Rover Evoque and Jaguar XE, allowing spy photographers to get close enough to snap images of its interior. Even though the crossover is a completely new model, its interior looks strikingly similar to something we’ve seen before.

Research

The prototype’s dashboard is mostly cloaked in black cloth, but its center stack and steering wheel on the right-hand side are left exposed. Looking at the center stack, we can see that it takes after the one on the 2016 XF, with the touchscreen flanked by a row of buttons, and with two more rows right beneath it. Instead of the rotary shift knob, the F-Pace prototype keeps a conventional shift knob. Underneath the black fabric, we can see a sportier-looking instrument panel with the gauges angled out toward the driver. The three-spoke steering wheel also appears to carryover from the XF into the F-Pace.

On the outside, this prototype looks just like the one spy photographers spotted a few months ago. The crossover still looks much like the C-X17 concept that first debuted at the 2013 Frankfurt auto show, with the same rounded back end and narrow headlights and taillights. The crossover will utilize the aluminum unibody used for the XE sedan. It may also share the XE's powertrains, namely the 240-hp 2.0-liter turbocharged I-4 and a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 with over 300 hp. Diesel and hybrid models may follow in the future, but that remains to be seen. Both rear- and all-wheel-drive versions of the crossover should be available. Word is that the production F-Pace will be ready for a Frankfurt reveal in September. MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image
