Kia has finally gotten serious about its rear-drive cars. The full-size K900 sedan is about to arrive in the States, and now, the Korean automaker is once again teasing a new rear-drive sports car concept ahead of its 2014 Detroit debut, this time revealing its official name and power source

The concept, dubbed the Kia GT4 Stinger, will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes 315 hp. Designed at Kia’s Southern California design studio, the low-slung GT4 utilizes a new take on the signature "tiger nose" grille with a white surround and vertical LED headlights on each side. And in addition to a carbon fiber front splitter for added downforce, the concept also features massive 20-inch wheels and front-brake cooling vents. While we don't know much else about the 2 +2 concept, it's possible it could share its underpinning with the Hyundai Genesis Coupe. © Provided by MotorTrend

Kia has been dipping its toes in the rear-drive sports car arena for a while now: the automaker unveiled the Kia Kee coupe concept in 2007, and then the GT four-door coupe concept in 2011 in Frankfurt. While we knew those concepts were just concepts, the GT4 could be a bit more plausible, considering the K900 is officially joining the U.S. lineup.
