Nobody likes bed bugs. They bite you, can potentially transmit diseases, and are just plain nasty. But there's one guy that might dislike bed bugs a little more than you. The Associated Press reports that a man in Long Island, N.Y., inadvertently set his rental car on fire while he was trying to kill bed bugs, which he claims infested the vehicle.

The AP reports that the man, Scott Kemery, suffered first- and second-degree burns after he poured alcohol over the bed-bug-affected area and lit a cigarette. Kemery was able to flee the vehicle on his own. According to police, Kemery wasn't intentionally trying to set the car on fire. Kemery alleges that someone told him that dousing bed bugs in alcohol would kill them. Apparently no one told him, however, that alcohol is flammable.

Two other cars were heavily damaged in the fire.
