At this month's Los Angeles auto show, Lexus will debut a concept it calls the LF-C2, and we can't help but wonder if this is a future RC convertible.

Research

The automaker released a single teaser image that shows the basic silhouette of the new convertible. Judging from its size, it can easily be a drop-top variant of the RC, with a front and back end that look remarkably similar to the coupe's. 2015 Lexus RC F© Provided by MotorTrend 2015 Lexus RC F

The 2015 Lexus RC was introduced in Tokyo back in November 2013, while the more powerful RC F made its debut earlier this year at the Detroit auto show. The RC coupe features a 3.5-liter V-6 engine good for 306 hp, while the RC F bumps this up to 467 hp from a V-8 engine. With the additional power, the RC F can hit 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds, according to our most recent track tests.

We will catch the global debut of the LF-C2 concept on November 19 before the L.A. auto show opens to the public. Three days before the premiere, Lexus will release a few more clues about the car through a new social media campaign. According to a new website dedicated to the LF-C2 concept, the model will be "gradually revealed hour by hour through the intensifying glow of a solar eclipse." We're intrigued.
