Back in the 1980s, the name Lamborghini was synonymous with the movie "Cannonball Run" and the Countach model's jackknife doors. Although the term "Lambo doors" has stuck in describing upward-pivoting doors, the best-selling Lamborghini of the modern era has conventional front-hinged, swing-out doors, the Gallardo. Hoping to build on the success of its V-10-powered "mass market" model, Lamborghini is going on a worldwide preview tour to its VIP clients previewing the new 2015 Huracan, the Gallardo's successor.

Before the first car has even been delivered to a customer, Lamborghini claims 700 pre-orders for the new model. The production Huracan will be officially revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show in March.

Although the Gallardo was no slouch with up to 562 hp in the later 5.2-liter models, the Huracan will out-power its predecessor right out of the chute by more than 40 hp with 610 hp. This formidable powerplant in conjunction with the Huracan's standard all-wheel-drive, promises a 0-60 time of around three seconds flat, and a top speed of 202 mph.

Be sure to check back in early March for our full coverage of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and more details on the Lamborghini Huracan.
