To celebrate the final production phase of the Land Rover Defender, the British automaker teamed up with designer Sir Paul Smith to create a one-off bespoke edition of the iconic off-roader. The new model was recently revealed at one of Smith's stores in the U.K.

Working closely with Land Rover's Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) design team, Smith was able to create this unique model entirely to his specifications. Smith chose to use 27 different colors in the exterior panels, drawing inspiration from the British countryside, as well as traditional colors used by the Armed Forces on their Defender vehicles.

I actually used the fabric that I design for Maharam, the American upholstery company. The vehicle features lots of special Paul Smith touches," said Smith in a release.

Even with the different bespoke elements, the Defender retains its traditional elements with its wing mirrors, door handles, and wheels. However, they were given a satin finish to give the model a contemporary feel. MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image

While this model may be a one-off for designer Paul Smith, Land Rover has created three limited edition Defender models for the 2015 model year: the Autobiography, Heritage, and Adventure. Each of these models will reflect a specific element of the Defender, showing off its unique character along with its capability and strength.
