With Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo stepping down, an era comes to an end. But it's not ending with a whimper, as the prancing horse boss greenlit 10 limited-edition Ferrari models before his departure.

The limited-edition models are already spoken for, and are all bound for the U.S. The special editions commemorate the North American Racing Team (NART), which competed raced Ferraris from the 1960s-1980s. The cars will bear the same blue with white stripes livery, and are likely to be based on the F12 Berlinetta, Automotive News reports. The cars are priced at around $3.2 million. Not much else is known about the special editions, other than that Montezemolo himself signed off on the cars before stepping down. The ultra-exclusive Ferraris will likely receive unique exterior and interior treatments, as well as special badging. The model is expected to debut at a gala dinner in Los Angeles celebrating 60 years of Ferrari in the U.S. on October 12, the day before Montezemolo hands the reins over to Fiat Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne.

With the special model's NART association, and its pedigree as one of the last products overseen by Montezemolo, it will be one for mega-rich collectors to watch in the future.
