Sales are up 54 percent for the struggling Lotus brand so far this fiscal year, and just in time to capitalize on the automaker's growth, an all-new model will make its way to the Geneva auto show in March. Although Lotus didn't go into details on the new car, we expect it will be a new Evora.

Lotus Plans Big Reveal for Geneva Show, Likely the New Evora

As we previously reported, Lotus had planned on introducing a new Evora for the 2016 model year. According to Autocar, Lotus boss Jean-Marc Gales said the new Evora will be 15 percent more powerful and lighter than the current Evora. It should even beat out Porsches in terms of performance, he said, and a lightweight Cup version will be even more lightweight and powerful than the standard model. He said that the car, set to make its way to Geneva, will also undergo changes to the exterior and interior.

Along with the Evora, a new Exige should also gain power and shed weight in 2016. In the future, we can expect a new model that will take after the 2-Eleven track special.

While Lotus is still in the process of updating its product portfolio, it has already achieved greater sales and an expanded global reach since its darkest days. In the first nine months of the current fiscal year, Lotus has added 25 new dealers across the globe, with 50 more to come by the end of this year. Sales have increased by triple digits in France, Germany, China, and Japan, while sales in the U.S. have also gone up a promising 29 percent. Globally, Lotus sold 1565 cars in the past nine months, an increase of 551 cars from the same time over the previous year.
