With more customer interest in the McLaren 570S, the less-powerful McLaren 540C is no longer planned for the U.S., according to the British automaker. Initially, both of McLaren’s new Sport Series models were destined for U.S. shores.

“Following feedback from a series of previews where interest from American customers has exclusively been in the 570S, the decision has been taken to concentrate on this model for the launch of Sports Series in the US. There is no change to availability of the 540C or 570S in other markets.” McLaren told Motor Trend in an email.

The engine makes 532 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque in the 540C and 562 hp and 443 lb-ft in the 570S. Pricing for the McLaren 540C was expected to start around $165,000, while the McLaren 570S is said to start around $185,000.

The Sport Series slots below the Super Series, which includes the 650S, 675LT, and Asia-only 625C. At the top of the range is the Ultimate Series, which includes the P1 hybrid hypercar.
