The McLaren 675LT has been confirmed for limited production. The "longtail" model's production run will be capped at 500 units globally, with each car priced starting at 259,500 pounds (roughly $399,350 at today's exchange rates).

We previously learned nearly everything there is to know about the McLaren 675LT, including that it makes 666 hp from a tweaked twin-turbo 3.8-liter V-8 and that it's 220 pounds lighter than the 650S. The car uses the same carbon fiber monocoque as the 650S, but the chassis setup and powertrain specification are unique to the 675LT. The model receives a front and rear track widened by 20 mm, along with lightweight springs that are 27 percent stiffer in the front than those in the 650S, and 63 percent stiffer in the rear. The suspension geometry is new, benefiting from lightweight uprights and wishbones derived from the P1 hypercar. In addition, the model receives revised bodywork and new active aero pieces. The modifications result in a 40-percent increase in downforce, according to McLaren. Not surprisingly, the sports car maker also says the changes make the 675LT the lightest, most powerful, and fastest car in the McLaren Super Series, which also includes the 650S and 650S Spider.

Buyers will be able to choose an optional Club Sport pack, which adds a titanium roll hoop, four-point harnesses, and fire extinguisher for 5090 pounds (roughly $7830 U.S.). The McLaren 675LT is available for order now at dealers, and deliveries will begin in July.
