A businessman may have found the perfect way to flash his wealth and love for the Gulf Oil racing livery. He commissioned the McLaren Special Operations program to create this McLaren P1, which is inspired by an iconic McLaren F1 GTR race car donning the signature Gulf Oil blue and orange color scheme.

Here, blue dominates most of the exterior, although the customer chose to retain the contrasting black paint for the inner door panels, side air ducts, and lower front bumper. Orange accents are used sparingly. The brake calipers and edges of the front splitter and rear diffuser, for example, are accented in orange, while an orange stripe cuts through the center of the hood, the engine cover, and the active rear wing.

McLaren doesn’t mention any mechanical changes, which means this P1 likely produces the same 904 hp from its 3.8-liter twin-turbo V-8 hybrid powertrain.

This isn’t the first P1 MSO has shown off. Earlier this year, McLaren was on hand at Pebble Beach to display a one-off P1 done up in exclusive Sterling Grey paint with orange accents and a 24-carat gold engine bay heat shield.
