Mitsubishi will debut yet another plug-in hybrid concept at this year's Paris Motor Show. The Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV Concept-S takes the production Outlander PHEV and adds more aggressive styling.

The plug-in's front end has been completely reworked, with new, more streamlined headlights and a unique front fascia. The headlamps are underlined by chrome trim, which forms the border of the grille. Stretching across the Concept-S' liftgate is a bar of taillights, which is again underlined by staple-shaped chrome accents. Mitsubishi says that design element is meant to convey a "protective theme." The exterior is painted Platinum White with a glass flake finish. Inside, the Outlander PHEV Concept-S features a "Black & Burgundy" color scheme, with silver-accented black wood grain trim, hand-stitched fine leather seating with three-dimensional surfaces, and a center console inspired by Japanese traditional black lacquered boxes. Like the production Outlander PHEV, which we have yet to see here in the U.S., the Concept-S has a permanent magnet synchronous motor at each axle, giving it all-wheel drive capability. A gasoline-fed 2.0-liter MIVEC four-cylinder engine powers the front wheels, while a lithium-ion battery supplies power to the rear electric motor, which by itself is rated 80 hp and 144 lb-ft of torque.

Joining the Outlander PHEV Concept-S on stage will be 11 other Mitsubishi vehicles, including the Outlander PHEV rally car that ran in the 2014 FIA Asia Cross Country Rally.

What do you think of the Outlander Concept-S' look? Should an Outlander mid-cycle refresh look like this?
