British sports car builder Morgan has been churning out cars at its Pickersleigh Road plant for 100 years now, and to celebrate, the automaker is launching a limited-edition model: the Morgan Plus 8 Speedster.

The Speedster is the latest evolution of the Plus 8, and Morgan says it "offers an even more invigorating driving experience inspired by a bygone era of stripped back, road-going race cars." The car is powered by a 367-hp 4.8-liter BMW V-8 mated to a six-speed manual or ZF-sourced six-speed automatic transmission. Acceleration from 0-62 mph is estimated by Morgan at 4.2 seconds, with a top speed of 148 mph. The Plus 8 Speedster is underpinned by an aluminum chassis, and gets unique styling features along with a long list of personalization options customers can choose from. Production of the limited-run model begins in June, with U.K. sales to follow later in the summer. The hand-built car is priced at £69,995 (roughly $118,000).
