TVR has officially sold out of its new sports car just six weeks after orders began. The British automaker has received more than 250 deposits, or enough to fill its production schedule through 2017.

Of course, we still haven't seen the new product since TVR announced earlier this summer it would return to car production. We only know that it will be an all-new two-seater packed with a front-mounted V-8 engine and a manual transmission, paired with rear-wheel drive. TVR has partnered with Gordon Murray Design and Cosworth Engineering on the project, which the automaker says is in the advanced stages of design and planning. It has been about 10 years since TVR closed the doors on its Blackpool factory in England. Later, rumors swirled that the company would build a new vehicle, while other rumors vowed the company would instead devote its resources to wind turbine production. In 2013, our hopes reignited when a new group of investors purchased the company.

Buyers can still order TVR's new sports car, but it won't be delivered in 2017. Those who place orders now should expect a delivery date in early 2018, the automaker says.
