Austria's annual Wörthersee festival has become an important venue for Volkswagen Group, as every year the auto giant debuts an extreme concept or two at the big VW show. This year, Volkswagen's Spanish arm Seat is unveiling the one-off Ibiza Cupster, which celebrates the model's 30th anniversary.

The topless model was styled by Seat Design, and is based on the European Ibiza Cupra. The Cupster is lower and wider than a regular Cupra, and the windshield has been shortened and made to wrap the doors. The seating position is lowered by 80 mm, though the car still sports the same 178-hp turbocharged 1.4-liter I-4 and DSG dual-clutch transmission as the standard Cupra.

Inside, the two-seat Cupster gets a steering wheel wrapped in aniline leather, along with a gray tonneau cover behind the low-slung "double-bubble" seats. The rest of the interior has a "traditional racing feel," with minimalist gauges and black Alcantara upholstery. The Cupster is finished in a custom "New Orange" paint color, and rides on 18-inch alloy wheels.
