Petersen Japanese Car Cruise-In 2015 Photo Gallery

This was our first trip to the Petersen Automotive Museum's annual Japanese Car Cruise-In, and considering it was on the same day as the mighty Eibach Honda Meet going on about 80 miles away, we figured at the very least the Honda/Acura turnout would be limited. Nope. Classic Civic and Accord were spotted throughout, as well as a number of cleanly maintained NSX. The fight for Honda supremacy at the event boiled down to the famous Mugen CR-X and the infamous garish pink S2000 from "2 Fast 2 Furious" (okay, there really was no fight - the Mugen CR-X won all the way).

In addition to the scores of enthusiast whips on display, the Petersen pulled some cars from its collection, like the aforesaid S2K and an insanely rare Davis Divan three wheeler - not a Japanese car but cool all the same. Only 13 were ever made between 1947 and 1949, and the car came with features like aircraft-inspired styling, removable hardtop, disc brakes, hidden headlights, and built-in jacks.

Repping Toyota, we saw cars like the classic Corona on up to the newest of new LFA; from Nissan, Bluebirds, Skylines and Z cars galore. There were Mazda RX-7 from all gens, and someone even brought out a Subaru SVX. In fact, Mazda was on hand in an official capacity, to tout its new MX-5 among a lineup of previous generation roadsters.
