Pilot Hurt After Small Plane Crash

A pilot was hurt after his small plane crashed into a industrial area of Long Island, New York on Sunday January 10, 2021. 911 calls around 1:05pm reporting the small plane crash started to come into the Nassau County Police. Witnesses said the plane went down near Sweet Hollow Road & Winding Road in Old Bethpage, New York. Firefighters from multiple agencies from across Nassau County & Suffolk County responded to the scene. The 57-Year Old Bridgeport, Connecticut pilot lost control of the twin-propeller Cessna after failure of both engines. Sources said the pilot attempted to land at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, New York when the crash occurred. Fire officials said the Cessna crashed 50 years from a Town of Oyster Bay Waste Disposal building after striking a fence. Firefighters had to rescue the pilot after he became trapped in the wreckage. The fence the plane crashed into absorbed the impact of the crash according to a fire official. "Had it gone 50 yards further, it would have crashed into that abandoned building, and it most likely would have been a fatality. The pilot was the only person aboard the aircraft which normally seats between 6 and 8 people. Officials said the pilot suffered serious injuries, although he was conscious and alert when firefighters reached him. 🎫 Become a Channel Member For Exclusive Perks: πŸ”” Subscribe For More "Breaking News" Video: πŸ†• New Content πŸ†• : πŸš’ Public Safety Scanners πŸš‘ : ******************************* πŸ“» Uniden BCD996P2: πŸ“» Uniden BCD436HP Scanner:
