Two refreshed compact cars will debut at the 2014 New York Auto Show: The 2015 Volkswagen Jetta and the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze, both of which were unveiled over the weekend. That said, we want to know which refreshed compact car you would choose.

Through the first three months of 2014, the Cruze has sold fairly well with a year-to-date sales tally of 65,185 units, putting it behind the second-place Honda Civic and first-place Toyota Corolla. Chevrolet has decided not to mess with success, giving the 2015 Cruze mild tweaks, including a revised front fascia that mimics that 2014 Malibu and Impala. The interior received a few ergonomic improvements and more tech including the option to add Wi-Fi 4G hot spot capability. Meanwhile, the Cruze’s powertrain options are the same and include a 1.8-liter I-4 (138 hp and 125 lb-ft of torque), a 1.4-liter turbo-four rated at 138 hp and 148 lb-ft, and a 2.0-liter turbodiesel I-4 that make 151-hp and 264 lb-ft.

The 2015 Jetta’s refresh is more substantial. Its front and rear bumpers are tweaked and the Jetta can now be had with HID headlights and daytime LED running lamps. The improvements to the interior, however, are more substantial and include a revised center stack, and new steering wheel, a new color display for the instrument panel, and improved materials. Additionally, the Jetta can now be had with advanced safety features like a blind spot monitor. The 115-hp, 2.0-liter I-4 carries over, as does the 170-hp, 1.8-liter turbo-four, which was new for 2014 and replaced the archaic 2.5-liter inline-five. New for 2015 is the 2.0-liter turbodiesel I-4 that makes 150-hp and 236 lb-ft, which VW says is more efficient than the outgoing engine.

That said, which refreshed compact would you choose? Take the poll and sound off in the comments below.
