Two years after debuting the Infiniti Q30 Concept First Look" target="_blank">Q30 Concept, Infiniti will bring out the production-ready model at the Frankfurt motor show this September. Until then, Infiniti is putting its first-ever compact car through a battery of tests across Europe to ensure it's ready for showtime.

Research

We've spotted Q30 prototypes roaming the streets before, but Infiniti now gives us our best look yet at the model. In this single teaser image, the Q30 wears a little less camouflage. It's clear the model retains the same basic shape from the concept, although it's hard to see whether it keeps the fluid character lines that distinguished the model two years ago. The roofline appears slightly less sloped than before, and the window design looks much more conventional now, although we won't know for sure until the camo comes off.

The Infiniti Q30 is expected to ride on the same platform as the Mercedes-Benz CLA sedan and GLA crossover. We'll also see a four-cylinder powerplant derived from Mercedes under the hood. The vehicle will be built at Nissan's facility in Sunderland, U.K.

Infiniti says it has completed development of its new car, and is preparing the final details for launch. The Q30 will go on sale in Europe near the end of this year before rolling out to other global markets. Stay tuned for more information on the Q30 when it makes its Frankfurt debut in the next few months.
