In an effort to improve fuel economy, Ram has introduced an all-new edition to its half-ton truck lineup, the 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE. With an EPA-estimated rating of 21/29/24 mpg city/highway/combined, the new model offers the highest fuel economy rating among all full-size trucks on the market.

Fuel efficiency has become one of the highest priorities when purchasing a new truck or car, and Ram hopes to extend its claim as the most fuel-efficient truck on the market with the new 1500 EcoDiesel HFE. Already, the EcoDiesel tops its closest competitors in fuel economy by 12 percent.

The new model will build off the Ram 1500 Tradesman Quad Cab four-door body, and will be offered with a body-colored fascia for a sportier look. The EcoDiesel HFE will also feature wheel-to-wheel side steps and a tri-fold tonneau cover for better aerodynamics. The new models will have HFE badging to differentiate them from the rest of the lineup.

"Fuel efficiency is at the top of truck buyers' priorities, and Ram is the recognized benchmark for the industry," said Bob Hegbloom, president and CEO for the Ram brand, in a recent press release. "Twenty-nine miles per gallon cuts through the clutter. Ram invested in powertrain technologies and those are paying real dividends in the wallets of our customers."

With the first batch of the 2014 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel trucks selling out within the first few days, the 2015 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel HFE may have the same reception when it goes on sale later in the first quarter of this year.
