Motor Trend's top test driver, Randy Pobst, guest stars in this week's episode of "Roadkill," where hosts David Freiburgur and Mike Finnegan revive some old project cars and take them to the track to see if they can beat Pobst around the track. However, the episode wouldn't be complete without a few mishaps along the way.

Research

The first car revived is the "Draguar," a 1973 Jaguar XJ12 with a supercharged 383-cubic-inch Chevy small-block V-8. After making a few tweaks and fixing a few leaks, it was time to get car number two, the affectionately named "Rotsun," up and running. As you may recall, the Rotsun is a 1971 Datsun 240Z with a Chevy 4.3-liter V-6 and a turbo from a Ford Powerstroke diesel. Finnegan and Freiburger were amazed that the Rotsun was still running, and after fixing some parts, they hit the track.

The goal was to beat Pobst in a race, but the Rotsun refused to cooperate, prompting our hosts to switch tactics. After a few laps in the Draguar, it was time to set some fast laps. With boiling brake fluid coming into play, there was a clear victor, but Freiburger and Finnegan had one more trick up their sleeves in their attempt to best the pro racer.

Did Freiburger and Finnegan manage to best Pobst? Check out the video aboveto find out.
