The starting price for the 2016 Acura RDX will increase by $175 for the refreshed model, Acura announced today. The price adjustment to $36,190 including destination reflects the various upgrades and improvements that the 2016 Acura RDX displayed for the first time at this year’s Chicago auto show.

Now Acura has thrown in a new top-trim RDX Advance Package, starting at $44,340. The comprehensive trim level includes flashy styling bits kike 18-inch wheels with painted gray inserts, not to mention all of the safety and convenience tech available throughout the RDX line. Most notably, it bundles the AcuraWatch group of safety features like adaptive cruise control, emergency automatic braking, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, and the Expanded View driver’s side mirror. Advanced Package customers also get rain-sensing wipers, fog lights, keyless entry with remote start, front and rear parking sensors, ventilated front seats, and an auto-dimming driver’s side mirror. Navigation is still offered as a separate option.

In addition to the restyled exterior with Jewel-Eye LED lighting, classed-up interior, the crossover benefits from 6 more horsepower (for a total of 279 hp) from its 3.5-liter V-6 and 1 additional lb-ft of torque for 252 lb-ft. Retuned steering and upgraded engine mounts, a recalibrated all-wheel-drive system with more rear torque bias, and a broader torque curve are also on the menu.

The 2016 Acura RDX will look to continue the model’s steady upward sales, which reached their all-time high last year with 44,865 vehicles sold. It remains the second-best-selling Acura behind the MDX and its 65,603 units in 2014, and an RDX that rolled off the line at Honda’s East Liberty plant was the 5 millionth vehicle to do so.
