Acura is known for subtlety when designing vehicles. Many said the previous ILX was so subtle that it reminded them a little too much of its Civic cousin. For 2016, Acura has tweaked the ILX for added refinement. Much of the changes come under the hood with a more powerful base engine and eight-speed auto, but if you look carefully, you'll also notice a few changes to the sheetmetal.

Most of the action happens up front. Standard Jewel Eye LED headlights now make the ILX immediately recognizable among a sea of luxury vehicles. And while we think the grille looks very similar to its predecessor, it has been redesigned for a slightly more aggressive look. A lowered front end also helps shape its athletic appeal.

Not much has changed when you look at the side of the ILX. It sports similar character lines to the previous model and features a slightly lower stance. In back, Acura put in a revised rear deck, along with new two-tone taillight lenses replacing the solid red lamps of the previous model.

Peek inside and you'll notice some significant changes, however, mostly in terms of technology. The 2016 ILX boasts a more streamlined look thanks to a new infotainment system and fewer buttons to clutter the control panel. However, it now has that awkward two-touchscreen theme we've been struggling with on new Honda models.

How do you think the 2016 Acura ILX looks? Let us know in the comments below.

Last week, we asked for your feedback on the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V, and the great majority of you deemed it "refreshing." Danpalma26 said, "Completely refreshing! The new one makes the old one look chunky and dated." Stew said, "Refreshing all the way! This is stately to the Hellcat's brash, polished to the Hellcat's Brute force, the ballerina to the Hellcat's sledgehammer." El Kabong Mk.11 summed it up, saying "Screw 'refreshing.' This thing is righteous." Koa, however, disagreed with the group, saying, "Revolting. It's still too tall for the width."
