Special Aston Martin DB9 GT Celebrates James Bond

So maybe 007 never actually drove a DB9 (though he did drive a DB9-based DBS in a couple films), that doesn't mean Aston can't name one after him. The new, limited-production Aston Martin DB9 GT Bond Edition celebrates and pays tribute to the famed international spy, even if it doesn't have hidden machine guns or ejector seats.

Research

In anticipation of the latest James Bond movie, "Spectre", Aston Martin has released a limited-edition DB9 inspired by the iconic spy. The exterior features a unique Spectre Silver paint job, 007 badging, and 10-spoke gloss black diamond turned 20-inch alloy wheels. Complementing the look are gray brake calipers, a carbon fiber front splitter, and bright aluminum hood vents.

Peek inside the cabin and you'll see more Bond-inspired elements. These include 007 sill plaques, gun barrel embroidery on the rear seat divider, and a special Bond Edition start-up screen for the car's infotainment system. Drivers and passengers are surrounded by unique fluted leather and satin carbon fiber accents. To sweeten the package, Aston Martin is also throwing in a Globe-Trotter luggage case and an Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra watch with the purchase.

The DB9 GT Bond Edition starts at 165,000 British pounds, or roughly $252,400 at today's exchange rates. Packing 539 hp from its 6.0-liter V-12 engine, the DB9 GT is the most powerful Aston Martin DB9 to date. Only 150 copies of the Bond Edition model will be sold worldwide.

The special-edition model celebrates a 50-plus-year relationship between Aston Martin and James Bond. The latest film will prominently feature the Aston Martin DB10, an equally-stunning fastback model built specifically for the movie.
