While we’ve previously seen prototypes for the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze, new spy shots reveal the latest test mule wearing less camouflage than before. These new images give us a better look at the upcoming Cruze sedan’s front and rear styling.

Although the horizontally-split double grille remains, both sections are taller and more pronounced, while the lower air intake becomes a narrow slit in the more aggressive lower front fascia. The headlights are sleeker and have a more distinct rectangular shape. While the side profile appears similar to the current car, closer inspection shows a more laid back windshield and a more coupe-like rear roofline. Door handles now sit above the bodyline crease. The rear quarter window is still heavily disguised suggesting it have been moved from the rear door to the C-pillar. MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image

Around back, the trunk lid has an integrated lip spoiler and the details around the license plate area has more distinct lines, while the taillights appear slimmer with a more chiseled look. Additionally, the third brake light has been moved from the back window to the trunk lid.

Inside, the 2015 Cruze gets a redesigned dash with a large touchscreen flanked by HVAC vents, while a new steering wheel offers more infotainment controls. A new eco mode and stop-start function as well as park assist and lane departure warning may be available on the next-generation Cruze. MotorTrend Image© Provided by MotorTrend MotorTrend Image

Built on GM’s new global Delta chassis that will also underpin other future models including the Volt, Equinox, and Opel Astra, the Cruze will be sold in various markets as a Chevrolet, Daewoo, or Holden. While the Cruze is expected to go sale for the 2015 model year, the U.S. may be the last market to get the redesigned compact.
