Spied: 2015 Hyundai Sonata Interior Looks Less Extroverted

While we've seen the 2015 Hyundai Sonata prototype many times and just recently saw a teaser sketch, we still haven't seen it from all angles -- until now. New spy shots of the midsize sedan's interior have surfaced, and even though it's heavily camouflaged, we can still tell it's just as significantly updated as its exterior.

The black and white pattern doesn't throw us off since it's quite obvious the dashboard has been completely redesigned. Hyundai has said the new Sonata will feature a "Fluidic Precision" design language, which will be a "less extroverted" evolution of the brand's current Fluidic Sculpture styling theme. The interior shows just that, as the flowy styling cues from the current Sonata's dashboard have been smoothed out. The Volvo-like pictogram HVAC controls have been replaced with a row of traditional buttons, and designers have also done away with the longer and thinner HVAC air vents that gave the center stack a V-shape. The steering wheel has also been revised, and there appears to be a new compartment underneath the HVAC controls. Although the display screen on this prototype is relatively small, it's expected the larger 8-inch screen from the Kia Optima parts bin will also appear on the Sonata's options list. © Provided by MotorTrend

Spy photographers were also able to snap photos of the car's exterior while it was testing near the Nürburgring. The mule still keeps all its camouflage, but we can tell it flaunts a more upright front grille and rectangular headlights with LED running lights.
