The Lotus Evora is in the midst of a one-year hiatus, but the automaker has promised to bring the sports car back for model year 2016. It appears Lotus is keeping its promise because we now have the first images of a 2016 Lotus Evora prototype, which was caught testing in Southern Europe.

Although details hard to make out through the white and black swirl camouflage, we can tell the of the 2016 Lotus Evora prototype features revised front and rear fascias. The front fascia gets a more aggressive design with two new smaller outboard air intakes flanking the larger center intake. The projector headlights appear to be unchanged.

Around back, the 2016 Lotus Evora gets a revised rear deck with a new spoiler with a center pedestal. The current model’s twin round exhaust tips are also been replaced with a single oval exhaust tip. The 2016 Lotus Evora is also rumored to get revisions to the front seats that are said to improve ingress and egress to the small rear seating area.
