We've been seeing the Aston Martin DB9 successor prototype out testing on and off the track, sporting a new front end and headlight design. However, thanks to the fake body paneling, it was hard to glean much else from the spy shots. One thing we did know was that Aston Martin would continue with the DB name, thanks to the approval of trademarks for the DB10 and DB11 names. Today, we caught the successor to the Aston Martin DB9 testing on the Nürburgring in full camouflage.

The successor to the DB9 will not only be the newest Aston Martin to come to market in some time, but it will also start a brand-wide revamp. Looking closely, this prototype seems to take more than a few styling cues from the DB10 featured in the latest James Bond movie.

We also heard that the DB9 successor would feature an updated version of Aston Martin's VH platform that would implement more aluminum and other lightweight materials. Engines will likely include a Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-turbo V-8 and a carry over 5.9-liter V-12.

Expect the latest offering from Aston Martin to make its debut in the first half of 2016. Until then, check out the spy shots below.
