Spied! Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Caught Partially Uncovered

We know it's probably only a matter of time before we see the two-door version of the new Mercedes-Benz C-Class unveiled at the 2015 Frankfurt motor show later this year, but we caught the C-Class Coupe testing in Europe with hardly any camo.

The new C-Class Coupe will ride on the MRA platform and be powered by the same engines as the sedan. The coupe is expected to also feature the same seven-speed automatic transmission, and offer standard rear-wheel drive with 4Matic all-wheel drive available on certain models. We can see from the photos that the C-Class Coupe will look sportier than the sedan, showing off a wider and lower body. Also evident in the photos are the updated taillights and smaller rear end that are mirrored on the new S-Class Coupe. Judging by the grille design and split tailpipes, there's a good chance this is a mule for the twin-turbo-V-6-powered C450 AMG coupe.

Spied! Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe Caught Partially Uncovered

Late last year we saw spy shots of the C-Class convertible sporting full camouflage, with only the trunklid remaining uncovered. This gave us a view of the partially exposed taillights, which were very similar to those on the S-Class Coupe and will likely be shared with the C-Class Coupe. This prototype shows us we can expect to see even more S-Class Coupe design cues when the C-Class Coupe finally breaks cover, likely in September.
