With Subaru’s continuing sales success, it’s no surprise that Subaru of America is looking to move its headquarters to a new and larger facility.

Subaru of America announced it has locked down a location for its new headquarters in Camden, N.J., approximately four miles away from its current spot in Cherry Hill, N.J. The company says the new headquarters will be twice as large and will house 500 employees working in Sales, Marketing, and Service and Administration departments. Those departments are currently spread out among three facilities. 2015 Subaru Outback© Provided by MotorTrend 2015 Subaru Outback

Pending approval, Subaru says the project should be completed by late 2016 or early 2017.

Subaru of America has called Cherry Hill, N.J. home since 1986, though it first established itself in the U.S. back in 1969.

The Cherry Hill headquarters is a zero-landfill office and it's likely that the new facility in Camden will be even more eco-conscious. Other U.S.-based Subaru facilities include its manufacturing plant in Lafayette, Ind. (producing the Legacy and Outback ) and a number of research and development offices including one in Ann Arbor, Mich. and Cypress, Calif. 2015 Subaru WRX STI Launch Edition© Provided by MotorTrend 2015 Subaru WRX STI Launch Edition

The announcement comes after Subaru celebrates six successive annual sales records. Through November 2014, sales in the U.S. totaled 463,770 units, a number that already surpasses the company’s record of 424,683 vehicles sold in 2013.
