Swede Sounds: Volvo Partners Up with Avicii for Music Video

It appears as though Volvo likes making music videos with electronic music groups, especially Swedish ones. Following a successful partnership with Swedish House Mafia, the automaker has teamed up with electro pop DJ and producer Avicii for a new music video for a song titled, “Feeling Good.”

The song, due for global release on May 8, is actually a rework of Nina Simone’s “Feeling Good,” with new vocals and beats produced by Avicii. The song seemed like a natural choice for the new music video, considering it’s one of Avicii’s favorite songs, and also because it embodies Volvo’s new global brand campaign, “A New Beginning.” At the same time that Volvo is celebrating its rebirth, the 25-year-old DJ is on the rise. “The Volvo Cars brand is on the ascendant, just as Avicii is, with a growing global audience. We thought there would be no better way to celebrate our heritage and passion for life than to work together to produce something special that reflects who we are and what matters to us,” said Alain Visser, Senior Vice President Sales, Marketing and Customer Service at Volvo Car Group. The video was filmed in Stockholm among other places dear to Avicii, including Osterle, where the music artist spent countless summer vacations with his family. Although the video has not been released just yet, teaser photos reveal that the newly designed XC90 stars alongside Avicii in the music video. The XC90 is the first vehicle in the lineup to launch the rebirth of the Swedish brand, with an all-new SPA architecture, new powertrains, and a sultry design. The Volvo XC90 proved to be an instant hit, as the limited-production First Edition sold out in just 47 hours.
