Not to be confused with the 24 Hours of LeMans featuring supercars, the 24 Hours of LeMons is an endurance race for $500 cars. This year, The Enthusiast Network (TEN) will be sponsoring the event, which Roadkill announced yesterday in a Facebook post.

For those wanting to race, it only takes four simple steps to enter, including creating an account with the LeMons website, filling out a team entry, waiting for an acceptance notice and paying the entry fee of $600 per car and $150 per driver. And for $75, non-driving team members gain access to all the same benefits as the drivers, excluding track time. Spectators only need to pay $30 to watch this crazy event.

A few years ago, Roadkill's Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger entered into the event in a 1973 Plymouth Fury; however, luck was not on their side and Fury died before a lap could be completed. We will have to wait and see if they will enter another car this year.

The 24 Hours of LeMons helps raise money for the Speedway Children's Charities to help children with their specific needs in different communities. The next races will be held at High Plains Raceway in Colorado on June 13-14 before hitting Buttonwillow Raceway Park in California the following weekend on June 20-21.
