After several delays, Tesla is finally ready to launch the Model X. On September 29, the automaker will hand out the very first copies at its factory in Fremont, Calif.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced the news on Twitter this week, and also gave us clues on pricing for the new crossover. When equipped with the same options, the Model X will cost $5,000 more than a Model S "due to greater size and body complexity," Musk said in a tweet.

The fully loaded, limited-edition Signature Series will start at $132,000 before federal and state tax credits. A configurator given to Model X customers, and subsequently leaked online, reveals pricing and details for the model. As promised, the Model X will feature a high-speed "Ludicrous" mode as a $10,000 option, according to the configurator. Model X goodies includes keyless entry, parking sensors, blind spot warning, automatic emergency braking, and "Falcon Wing" rear doors with sensors for opening in garages of any height. For the Signature series, look for a Smart Air Suspension, ventilated seats, Autopilot Convenience Features with self-parking, and other upgrades, according to the configurator.

Once the Model X debuts, Tesla will focus on a new entry-level sedan. At a press conference in July, Musk said the Model 3 was scheduled to arrive in just over two years. Musk reiterated that in a tweet, saying the Gigafactory would need to be completed first. Expect pricing for that model to hover in the $35,000 range.
