Audi's range-topping navigation system comes with a number of goodies. Drivers can access navigation functions through an 8.3-inch screen and an improved voice command system that recognizes natural speech. There is also a touchpad in the updated MMI controller that allows users to write characters with their fingers or zoom in or zoom out on a map like they would with a smartphone. Ordering MMI Navigation plus also brings along 10 gigabytes of flash storage and a DVD drive.

2) Audi Virtual Cockpit

It's a cool name for the car's optional 12.3-inch LCD instrument cluster. This large screen puts a high-resolution navigation map in plain view, complete with arrows and dynamic animations. The virtual cockpit can also display menus for telephone, radio, and audio systems, which can be perused through the car's steering wheel controls. Background colors on the virtual cockpit change depending on which menu is chosen.

3) Smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto

The Audi A4 not only offers wireless phone charging, but it is also compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. By plugging in their smartphone to the USB port, drivers can access their phone's navigation, telephone, third party apps right through the car's infotainment screen. As part of new Audi connect services, drivers can remotely heat the car, unlock and lock the doors, or find information on where the car is parked by using a smartphone app.

4) Audi tablet

The Audi tablet is the evolution of the rear seat entertainment package. This 10.1-inch display, attached to a swiveling device on the back of the front seats, connects to the car's MMI Navigation system via Wi-Fi. Passengers can send navigation directions to the driver, or make a video call. When controlling the radio or media functions, passengers can choose to send sound through a pair of headphones or to the car's speakers. Better yet, an "Apps" button provides access to a host of games, films, e-books, and office applications.

5) Tour Assistance Package

One of the A4's optional safety packages includes Stop&Go adaptive cruise control with traffic jam assist. Not only that, but a feature called "predictive efficiency assistant" warns drivers to travel at lower speeds when it senses a curve, road junction, roundabout, or other road block coming ahead. To conserve fuel by up to 10 percent, the system can take over freewheeling of the automatic transmission, allowing the car to "coast" under certain conditions.
